The difference between the different Carat of metal is based on the purity of the gold. For example, 18ct gold is hallmark stamped as 750 as it is 75% pure gold and the other 25% is mixed with other metal alloys to strengthen the gold.

Samuel Perry does provide jewellery products with gemstones, as well as the services of experienced gem setters to make gemstone change requests (subject to availability).

Samuel Perry offers jewellery resizing services for rings, necklaces and bracelets.

Wrap string or paper around the base of your finger and mark the point where the ends meet with a pen. Measure the string or paper with a ruler (mm) then divide by 3.14 (or Pi) to get the diameter of the ring. Pick the closest measurement on a ring size chart to find your ring size.

Samuel Perry offers a jewellery resize service allowing us to custom make the ring to any size. Price may be subject to an increase in the sizes sold above what is sold in our stores.

Samuel Perry offers adjustable bracelets and necklaces in our store, usually stated in the product description. Our adjustable products usually have jump ring “stations” for the clasp to attach to different measurement intervals.

All jewellery should be removed before sleeping, especially bracelets and necklaces as these can get caught in your sleep (longer lengths are much more prone to this). We also recommend removing your jewellery before swimming too.

As with gold jewellery, gemstones should proceed with the same care, especially with swimming in the sea as the salt may damage certain types of gemstones.

If the scrolls on your earring backs have been pulled loose then pushing the scrolls together will tighten the earring backs. If you are unsure or unable to do this, then you may send the earring back to our workshop in order to get this issue resolved.
